My brother and I watched elders performing Taichi along The Bund, then for breakfast we treated ourselves to the nearby Peninsula's breakfast buffet. The breakfast buffet went for RMB 240 plus taxes: it was a price I had to pay for great waffles.

Circles, Makati Shangrila Hotel
Props to Circles for retaining their 5 stations against the backdrop of the financial crisis, but I felt that the selections were a bit dry and ordinary. A few of my preferences were:
the creamy risotto and the perky lady who serviced this station
This seafood set, which looked horrible under my lenses but looked very classy when they serve it
lamp chops, even if I was not a very big fan
desserts!
the brazo staple!

Cookbook Kitchen, Mandaluyong
I finally tried Cookbook Kitchen after hearing so much about it from my friends. It was worth the trip going there (it was in some hidden part of Mandaluyong) so I am so see how their new outlet in Eastwood City will unfold.
I had their best seller cake, Kittin's Scarlet Cake, which was one of the BEST versions I've tasted. We had most of the food we ordered on take out, which was superbly delicious (the creamiest chicken and dory I have ever tasted), so I will take a photo of it next time we will going there - because there will definitely be a next time!
