Argo in Wudaoying (with real Greek food this time)

One of the places I like taking my friends to is Wudaoying Hutong near Lama Temple. My German friend Sascha mentioned that he hasn't had Greek in a long time, so we chose Argo and treated ourselves to the Greek version of 好吃.

Argo in Wudaoying

After our visit to the Lama Temple (where I learned a fair bit about the Buddist faith and observed how to pray in a temple), my friend and I chanced upon Argo as we were strolling along Wudaoying, the hutong pegged to be the next Nanluguoxiang 南路过巷.

Wudaoying looks darling in the evenings, with yellow lights gushing out from the small restaurants and shops and into the dark grey concrete, with sellers of random trinkets laid out in velvet cloth gently inviting us to look at their wares.

We chose to enter Argo because it was Greek, and I haven't been in a Greek restaurant ever since my stay in Beijing.

Cyma, Eastwood City

B and I went to Cyma for our lunch date. We chose Cyma because she was enticed by the photo of the Roka Salata salad on my previous entry. Aside from Roka Salata, we had the following dishes.

Pikilia - Mezedes Combination for Php 480. Their samplings include:

Greek Caviar - Salted fish roe dip

Eggplant dip

Htipiti (creamed feta cheese, hint of roasted spicy peppers and evoo)

Hummous (velvety chick pea tahini and garlic dip)

Hirine Brizola for Php 450 - Grilled Pork Chops - 3/4 inch thick, tender, bone-in, served with Greek roasted potatoes

Cyma, Eastwood City

My family and I had dinner in Cyma after what seemed like many years since we have gone. My preferred outlet was in Greenbelt (better lighting, wider space) but a salad mix was a salad mix, which was why we entered the establishment anyway.

Roka Salata - Fresh Arugula, chopped romaine lettuce, sun-dried tomatoes, candied walnuts, with shaved parmesan in traditional Green Vinaigrette for Php 495

Spinach Artichoke Fondue - blend of melting cheese, sliced sun-dired tomatoes and feta, served with warm pita triangles and grilled garlic bread for Php 350

Greek Shish - Kabobs: Chicken skewered with fresh vegetables for Php 340

Cyma Lamb Chops - Charbroiled, served with rice-stuffed peppers for Php 460
