Mondo Mio, Robertson Quay

We tried out Mondo Mio for dinner. It was a quaint little restaurant that resembled an Italian cafe complete with blackboard that spelled the specials in colourful chalk. Our arrival was greeted with champaign, and its chef went around to genuinely ask people to comment on his work. Some of the stuff we had:

Risotto ai Funghi Porcini in Crema di Tartufo: Italian Arborio rice gently simmered on low fire with porcini mushrooms in a truffle cream sauce for SGD 20

Agnello alla Scottadito: Grilled lamb cutlet dressed in a flavourful balsamic vinegar sauce and served with green salad and fried potatoes on the side - SGD 27

Tioman, Malaysia

In memory of one of the best spontaneous snap decisions ever! We went to Tioman for the weekend. The food wasn't anything exceptional, and the island itself offered basic amenities (the tallest commercial complex was 2 storeys high) but we all went to experience adventure.

Rustic charm at its best.

Giraffe, Istana Park

Dustin and I had birthday drinks in Giraffe. I did a feature on the restaurant during Anton and Bill's stay in Singapore.

We mentioned my birthday flippantly to the staff, and they gave us this. Thank you!

Yummy! I had no qualms wiping some of the the leftover sauce unto my beancurd so I could savor the remaining taste
