Nathu's Sweets, Delhi, Incredible !ndia

On our last day, we did a bit of exploration in Delhi plus some altercation with the police, and ended our journey in the famous Nathu's sweets.

Lassi at INR 35

Aloo Ki Tiki (INR 40). This was apparently a form of chaat.

Butter Naan (INR 30) and Roti (INR 10). Finally, something familiar!

Plain Dosa (INR 50). I will go for this more often. Less oil.

Palak Paneer (I think? INR 60)

ITC Mughal, Agra, Incredible !ndia

It is true what they said: The Taj was nothing like the pictures. It was even nothing like how Danny Boyle beautifully captured it in Slumdog.

It was magical how I saw it for the first time. I pushed and shoved myself out of the crowded gate and then into the dome that leads to the entrance of the garden, and when I finally emerged into the light, the dome shined silver under the noon day sun.

View of Taj from the Agra Fort, supposed to be framed by the star of David.

The Taj was beautiful, yes, but the trip within Agra was very very tiring. We gave up trying to find some middle class recommended restaurant, and went in ITC Mughal with our dirt smeared clothes and dusty rubbershoes.

Grand Mughal Kathi - crispy thin paratha stuffed with morsels of charcoal smoked chicken tossed with light spices, onions and peppers for INR 675

Moti Mahal, Agra, Incredible !ndia

I was lucky enough to be sent to India to run an event featuring top FIIs. Afterwards, we spent some days exploring major landmarks of Mumbai, Delhi and Agra. Some bits from our Mumbai trip:

I forget the brand of this car, but it was ubiquitous in the city.

CST, or Victoria Terminus, where Jamal and Latika met

Indian babes by India Gate

We flew from Mumbai (the financial capital) to Delhi (the government capital) so we could drive to Agra for the Taj experience (4 hours away from Delhi). We stopped by the famous Moti Mahal for brunch.

Poori Bhaji - Indian delicacy of soft thin bread served with curried potatoes and home made pickels for INR 135

the curried potatoes and pickles

Saag Panner - Cottage Cheese in traditional spicanch and butter sauce for INR 225. Paneer is the mixture of spinach and cottage cheese, but Saag and Palaak (is differentiated by the way the spinach is cut.

Butter Chicken - oven roasted chicken simmered in Oriental spices, tomatoes and butter for INR 235
